Firefighting Foams: Fire Service Roadmap Workshop Series

This workshop series is key part of this overall project aiming to proactively educate the fire service on the current and anticipated future issues on firefighting foam operations and handling and recommendations of best practices to assist fire departments during this transition period in firefighting foam history. The workshop series is conducted as part of the project “Firefighting Foams: Fire Service Roadmap”, funded by DHS FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Fire Prevention & Safety grant. The workshop presentations and discussion topics include health, safety and environmental information including international, US Federal and States regulatory updates on foam transition; firefighting foam testing results, best practices, tactics, and actual incident use case studies; latest foam hardware information – cleaning, replacement, and disposal; firefighting foam training, and a look into the future.
