By Andrew Browne, Deputy Fire Marshal
My name is Andrew Browne. I am the district 8 Deputy State Fire Marshal based out of Devils Lake. I have been with the office since June 2024. Previously, I was a firefighter with the Moorhead Fire Department and volunteered in two departments. I saw the opportunity to work with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and be part of a team to enhance fire safety and awareness within the state. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration/Fire Investigations and an associate degree in criminal justice. I hold certifications in Fire Investigation Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Materials Operations, Firefighter I & II, and EMT and I am currently working on my Fire Inspector certifications.
I enjoy fire investigations and working with the fire departments within my district to aid in origin and cause investigations using the “Scientific Method” to determine the cause of fires. Providing quality fire investigations for agencies is critical to finding fire danger trends and educating the public about risks that linger within our homes and businesses. I also enjoy putting the pieces together within a fire investigation to bring all the information together to determine a cause or what happened.
I also enjoy working for the State Fire Marshal’s office because we get to work with different fire departments and fire chiefs to help aid them in different fire-related topics and tasks.
I am looking forward to serving the State of North Dakota.
